Principal's Message

Teaching our Children to be Responsible Digital Citizens

With the rise of social media, cyberbullying and its use as an intimidation tool is an issue we as educators are forced to investigate and resolve with increasing frequency.  These incidents often involve bullying conducted through social networking websites, such as Twitter, Instagram and especially, Snapchat.  Sometimes it is one child posting things from his or her bedroom late at night and sometimes it involves several students acting in concert with one another.  There seems to be this false sense of bravery or self-righteousness posting negative or demeaning things about someone else when you don’t have to look them in the eye.  These behaviors, for whatever misguided reason the perpetrator attempts to justify, cannot be tolerated.
